  • Look for competitors by searching using specific keywords
  • Remember – You can connect to competitors!
  • Once connected look at who is following your competitors and start following them.
  • Similarly look at who your competitors follow – articles, advice etc and start following them
  • Start tweeting articles that will interest your followers – either create them yourself or tweet articles relevant to your business.
  • Look for trade magazines or news stories of interest.
  • Retweet other interesting tweets
  • Start a blog with daily or weekly tips to your followers – then tweet the link to the blog
  • Understand hash tags – these are the keywords of groups and communities.
  • Analyse hash tags at www.wefollow.com and see what hash tags you want to aim for.
  • By including a hash tag in your tweet, it will be seen not only by those who follow you, but also by those following the hash tag.
  • Tweet regularly – some experts advise on 2 or 3 per day!
  • Avoid dodgy people trying to connect – just don’t accept their connect request
